What's new in Sendshot
New features, fixes and the occasional mascot. Newest first.
Releases
Teams, More Inboxes, and Screenshots in Your Email
v1.5.0Invite your team
You can now invite teammates to all your projects from the new Team page. Each teammate signs in with their own email, sees your projects under "Shared with you", and can comment, change status and set priority. Settings, API keys and billing stay with you.
Your own seat is included in every plan. Extra seats are $5 per month each, on Free, Pro and Lifetime. The people who send feedback through the widget never need a seat.
Notifications for more than one address
Send new-feedback emails to a shared inbox, a client contact, or whoever's on call. Add addresses under Project → Settings and send a test email to check it arrives.
The screenshot comes with the email
Notification emails now include the screenshot, so you can often tell what's going on before you open the dashboard.
Billing that fixes itself
Plan changes and refunds sync straight from our payment provider, and your plan is checked again every time you sign in. If a payment webhook ever goes missing, your account catches up on its own.
Small fixes
- If a screenshot is cancelled or blocked, the widget reopens with the message you already typed
- Taking a screenshot can no longer hang on a page that isn't changing
- Shared report links show the right label for bugs and ideas
The Widget Speaks Your Visitors' Language
Five languages
The widget now comes in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish. Pick one under Customize → Behavior, or turn on auto-detect and let it follow the visitor's browser.
English stays the default, so nothing changes on your site until you choose.
Small fixes
- Long feedback no longer pushes the text field out of the modal
- Opening a report marks it as read
- The widget shows the real Sendshot plane in its branding
A Proper Welcome for New Accounts
Your dashboard isn't empty on day one
New accounts now start with a few example reports, so you can see what a real one looks like before your own widget sends anything. Screenshot, console logs, network errors, the steps someone took. It's all there.
A short tour
A spotlight tour walks you through the dashboard: where reports land, how to open one, and where to grab your install snippet. Skip it if you like. It ends with confetti either way.
Sendshot Got a New Look + Smarter Annotations
v1.4.0Sendshot got a new look
Marketing site, login, dashboard, and the widget customizer all got a refresh. Heavier blue, cleaner type, a bit more personality. Onboarding follows the same direction. Eight steps, eight custom mascots, and a smoother path from sign-up to your first piece of feedback.
Annotations that scale
Emoji, arrows, text, freehand strokes. They all size themselves to the screenshot now. Drop an emoji on a 4K capture and it lands big enough to actually see. Crop a small region first and the same emoji lands smaller. The widget figures it out.
Send button waits for a message
Empty feedback can't ship anymore. The send button stays disabled until you've typed something.
A few more
- Toasts in brand colours
- Pill-shaped Appearance / Behavior tabs in Customize
- New founder photo (hi)
User Tracking, Lifetime Deal & Mobile Dashboard
v1.3.0Know who's reporting what
Feedback isn't anonymous anymore. Reports now come with the person attached: name, email, avatar, the lot. Click anyone to see everything they've ever sent you. So when "the button is weird" lands in your inbox at 2am, you at least know whose button.
One payment, keep it forever
There's a new option on the pricing page. Pay $49 once, get the full Pro experience for good. No subscription, no renewal email a year from now, future updates included.
The widget asks for emails itself
You used to have to call identify() in your code to attach a user's email. Not anymore. The widget asks for it directly, so you can ship without touching your auth layer.
Pick where the widget shows up
There are new page visibility settings. Use "include mode" to only show the widget on specific pages, or "exclude mode" to hide it on the ones where it gets in the way. Useful if you don't want a feedback button stuck to your landing page or checkout.
The dashboard works on your phone now
Inbox, feedback detail, settings, customize: all of it is properly responsive. Not the "kind of works if you turn your phone sideways" version. The actual version.
Security and privacy
Screenshots expire on their own now. GDPR data export ships out of the box. CSP headers are locked down. If your users start asking where their data lives, you've got an answer that isn't "uh, let me get back to you."
Annotation Tools & Project Management
v1.2.0Screenshots you can actually draw on
Before this update, users could only send plain screenshots. Now they can draw arrows, highlight areas, add text, and circle the thing that's broken before they hit send. It runs on MarkerJS and loads lazily so it doesn't slow anything down.
Tools: freehand drawing, arrows, lines, rectangles, text, and a color picker.
Multiple projects, one dashboard
You can now run sendshot.dev on more than one app and manage them all from the same account. Each project has its own widget settings, and you can filter feedback by status, date, or browser.
Smaller, faster
The widget core is now ~10KB gzipped. Annotation tools only load when someone actually opens them. Network error handling got a lot better too.
Widget Customization & Bug Fixes
v1.1.0Make the widget yours
The widget now has real customization options. Pick from 8 color presets or drop in your own hex code. Move it to bottom-right, bottom-left, wherever works. Change the button text. On Pro, you can remove the sendshot.dev badge entirely.
Bug fixes
A few things that were annoying people:
- The widget wasn't loading on Safari 17.2+ (sorry about that one)
- Double-clicking the submit button sent duplicate reports
- Screenshots looked blurry on Retina/high-DPI screens
- Async errors weren't showing up in console log captures
Initial Launch
v1.0.0sendshot.dev is live
We've been working on this for a while, and now it's out there. Here's what you get on day one.
What's in the box
Your users get a small widget in your app. They click it, take a screenshot, and hit send. On your end, you see that screenshot along with console logs, network errors, browser info, and the steps they took to get there. No follow-up questions needed.
Installation is one <script> tag. The dashboard shows all incoming feedback. You can customize the widget colors and position to match your app.
Why this exists
I kept getting bug reports like "it's broken" with zero context. Which page? What browser? What happened before it broke? Building sendshot.dev was faster than asking those questions one more time.
